Welcome

Forward Together is a group for evangelical members of the Church of Scotland who share a desire to serve our Lord Jesus Christ within the Church of Scotland. Membership of Forward Together is open to all in the Church of Scotland who declare in writing their agreement with the aims and the Basis of Faith, which are included in [our] information leaflet.

The purpose of Forward Together is to serve our Church by continuing to present a distinctive evangelical perspective on matters of faith and life within the Church of Scotland. Members of the Church are invited to join Forward Together so that we might together find effective ways of articulating a biblical and evangelical position on the issues of debate within the life of our Church today.

Over the past fifty years we can thank God that he has raised up many in our Church, ministers, elders and members, who hold to an evangelical profession of our Christian faith. Forward Together seeks to be a group, within which evangelicals can work together, building an effective unity among evangelicals, so that we might support and encourage one another even as we work together to present a biblical perspective on the life and work of the Church.

Members of Forward Together:

• Will receive regular mailings informing them of the areas of work being undertaken.
• Will be invited to participate in local study groups preparing responses to the issues of debate within our Church.
• Will receive papers outlining a biblical, evangelical perspective on these issues to inform their prayers and participation in the courts of the Church.
• Will be represented by members of the Steering Group as the opportunity arises to engage in conversations with the administration of the Church, the media and other evangelical groups within and beyond Scotland.
